Word list
The practice words and their English glosses were written in-house for Hangul Pace: about 300 beginner words at TOPIK I level, dictionary-form nouns plus common polite 해요 forms. They are not taken from any other typing test or corpus, and no dictionary definitions were copied.
Sentences
The Sentences collection has 359 quotes: 271 Korean proverbs, which are traditional and belong to no author; 6 provisions of 5 articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, which the Copyright Act (Article 7) leaves unprotected; the lyrics of the national anthem; and lines and paragraphs of modern Korean literature by authors who died in 1962 or earlier, whose works are in the public domain in Korea. Each work below links to the page its text was taken from or checked against: Korean Wikisource (위키문헌) for all but Bang Jeong-hwan's leaflet, whose lines follow the wording on its monument at Seoul Children's Grand Park. Spacing and old spellings were brought to today's standard; the authors' own dialect and old word forms were kept. Every English meaning was written in-house.
